Tourers will appreciate the Range Control function, which optimizes the use of battery capacity so that it safely lasts you all the way to your destination, while for adrenaline-oriented riders the app calculates how many seconds they spent in the air during a jump or how many meters they rode on the rear wheel.
Want to change your riding characteristics? You can do it online
We're in the 21st century and you can handle plenty of settings online, without having to visit a service shop. Want to update the software that controls the motor? You click in the Bosch eBike Flow mobile app and that's it. The software is downloaded and loaded onto your e-bike. Want to raise the motor's torque to as much as 120 Nm? It works as easily as a children's mobile game. In the eBike Flow app you set the assistance, dynamics, maximum torque or maximum speed. You can also put together your favorite riding modes.
eBike Lock and Battery Lock as protection against theft
Development hasn't stopped at security either. E-bikes are expensive and, unfortunately, attractive to thieves as well. That's why Bosch makes it possible to lock the motor via the mobile app thanks to the eBike Lock function. After switching off, the motor is blocked and is reactivated only after pairing with the Bosch eBike Flow app. Identification happens automatically via Bluetooth, so you can happily leave your phone in your pocket, where it reliably works as your digital key. The mobile app also stores all the data about the e-bike, including the serial number, which can be used in case of theft for identification and as proof of ownership when dealing with the police or the insurance company. The Battery Lock function then serves to lock the battery and ensures that, if it is stolen, the battery can no longer be used.
eBike Alarm alerts both you and everyone around
For a small extra charge you can add a premium service that activates a guard function using GPS tracking. If the bike moves unexpectedly, the app immediately sends a notification. And if a theft happens anyway, the function sets off an alarm. You can track the bike's position in real time and try to trace it. But Bosch eBike Systems goes even further. Since this year you can mark your e-bike as stolen in a global ecosystem that every dealer or service shop has access to. This significantly increases the chance that your bike will be returned to you.
Service book in your phone

ABS: Technology against dangerous skids
But development is not only about comfort and protection against theft. There is safety too. Nobody would get into a car without ABS today. The active safety system that in cars and motorcycles prevents wheel lock-up, skidding and loss of control over the vehicle during sudden braking has found its use in e-cycling as well. Thanks to ABS, the rider doesn't have to fear the front wheel locking, which almost always ends in a fall. Especially on slippery surfaces, this significantly reduces the risk of an accident. According to Bosch data, the ABS system can prevent up to 29% of falls.
