Gravel Head-Cleanse – Not Just for Dads

 If you're planning a full-day ride on a gravel or mountain bike during your stay at Lipno, this loop won't let you down. From the very first kilometres you'll be riding on quiet back roads far from the busy tourist centres, and whenever possible you'll turn off the tarmac onto gravel. A large part of the route follows the Schwarzenberg Canal, on both the Czech and the Austrian side of the Bohemian Forest, so it's worth tucking a few euros into your wallet (card payment isn't accepted everywhere). The only place you're likely to meet more people is in Šumava National Park, on the stretch from Jelení Vrchy to Plešné Lake. Everywhere else it's an oasis of calm in the middle of beautiful Šumava nature. In short, a whole day to clear your head.
