route description

From Pasečná you head straight across the border to Guglwald and then up. Past the wind turbines below Sternstein, the Austrian hills take you above 1,000 metres, so your legs earn their keep in the first quarter already.
Via Weigetschlag you reach the southernmost point of Czechia. A photo is mandatory, otherwise it doesn't count. Then it's downhill to the Vltava and Rožmberk, where a brewery sits below the castle. After almost forty kilometres, nobody will judge you for having one.
The way back follows the river through Vyšší Brod and past Čertova stěna to Loučovice, then along the south shore of Lipno via Přední Výtoň back to Pasečná. Expect gravel and forest tracks, so a gravel bike or MTB is the right call.
