route description

If you don't mind longer climbs, you will love this route! From Loučovice, you will go down the new cycle path to Vyšší Brod, where the interesting part of the ride begins. More than 5 km long climb up to the extinct village of Kapličky will "burn your calves". It's a different story from the chapels. The car-free roads and rolling terrain full of views await you. On the way to Pasečná, you will experience the true atmosphere of Lipno. If you aren't in a hurry, make sure to stop in the Dobík Bistro, where you can taste the modern Czech cuisine, which will make happy even the most demanding gourmands. From Pasečná, you will ride through the real Šumava landscape, spiced up with a stop at the Schwarzenberg Navigation Canal, built on the Czech-Austrian-Bavarian tri-border about 220 years ago. The canal was built for floating logs from the inaccessible Šumava dense forests to the Große Mühl, from where the logs travelled on the Danube to the imperial capital and market city of Vienna. The return journey leads on comfortable tarmac road through Frýdava and from Přední Výtoň on a cycle path off the road.
