Bosch eBike Systems introduces its first motor in the wheel hub
In cities, the e-bike is part of everyday life, combining fast movement, flexibility and comfort. That is why Bosch eBike Systems is coming out with a new set of solutions meant to take urban cycling further. The main role is played by Hub Line, the first Bosch motor placed directly in the wheel hub. It is light, compact and designed precisely for the needs of city traffic. Combined with other new products, it makes it possible to build lighter and more cleanly designed e-bikes.

Hub Line. Clean design and a natural ride
The new Hub Line system is designed for everyday movement around the city. Until now, Bosch was known mainly for its powerful mid-drive motors located at the bottom bracket, but now it is coming, for the first time, with a motor in the wheel hub that is a full part of the smart system.
The motor offers a torque of 45 Nm and instant but smooth support. It helps mainly when starting off at traffic lights or on gentle hills, where it makes riding noticeably easier. At speeds above 25 km/h the motor switches off automatically and the ride continues much like on a classic bike, that is, practically without pedal resistance.
A big advantage is the low weight of approximately 2.3 kg. Thanks to that, the bike is easy to handle and control even in dense city traffic. The motor is also very compact, with a diameter of about 100 mm, and thanks to its black finish it forms an inconspicuous part of the rear hub.
Full connectivity is part of the system too. A mobile phone with the eBike Flow app works as the control center of the whole bike. It lets you control riding modes and navigation, secure the bike against theft and personalize the settings. Wireless updates keep the system up to date at all times.
The motor can be complemented with eShift electronic shifting, which gives you the comfort of choosing automatic or manual shifting depending on the situation in traffic.
PowerTube 360: Energy in a slim design
Alongside the Hub Line drive comes a new PowerTube 360 battery. It is the slimmest battery in the Bosch smart system so far.
With a diameter of just 68 mm, it integrates easily into the bike frame and helps create a very clean and minimalist design. Bikes with this battery often look no different from ordinary bicycles at first glance.
The battery weighs approximately 2.1 kg, which contributes to better weight distribution and more agile handling. The 360 Wh capacity allows a range of over 80 km in normal city traffic. Depending on use, the range can be extended further with the DualBattery system or the additional PowerMore 250 battery. Depending on the bike's construction, the battery can be either removable or permanently integrated into the frame.
ConnectModule: Protecting the e-bike on a new level
The new generation of ConnectModule helps protect the e-bike against theft even in situations when you don't have it in sight.
The device combines GPS, the mobile network and motion sensors. It newly adds Bluetooth Low Energy technology, which enables location tracking accurate to within a few meters. This makes it possible to locate the bike even in places where ordinary GPS fails, for example in inner courtyards or basements.
Simpler installation is also part of it, which makes retrofitting easier on more types of bikes. The features are available as part of the Flow Plus subscription.
LED Controller: Simple control without distraction
The new LED Controller replaces the previous LED Remote and brings a smaller and clearer design. Compared with the previous version, it is about 65% smaller. All the buttons are placed so that you can comfortably operate them with your thumb without taking your hand off the handlebars. The controller lets you switch modes, turn on the lights or activate the walk assist.
LED indicators show the riding mode and the battery status. The brightness adjusts automatically to the ambient light, so the display is easy to read by day and by night. It also includes a USB-C connector with an output of up to 10 W, which allows charging external devices. Intuvia 200.
Overview while riding
The new Intuvia 200 display has a simple and clean design that doesn't distract while riding. The 2.4-inch grayscale display is easy to read in all conditions and from various angles. The goal is for the rider to always have all the important information quickly at hand and not have to take their attention off the road.
The future of urban cycling
Hub Line, PowerTube 360, ConnectModule, LED Controller and Intuvia 200, together with the Bosch eBike Flow mobile app, form the foundation of a new generation of city e-bikes. They combine lightweight construction, simple control, modern design and smart features. Thanks to them, the e-bike becomes a natural part of city life, whether it's a commute to work, getting around town or leisure rides.
